Assign your policy

Thank you for choosing to use our website to request your deed of assignment. In order to make sure that you get the correct information, we need to know what type of policy you wish to assign.

If you have an Industrial Branch (IB) policy, you will need to use the information in the IB section.

If you have an Ordinary Branch (OB) policy, you will need to use the information in the OB section.

If you are unsure which type of policy you have, the table below explains the main differences between the two types of policy. You can find your policy number on your policy schedule or on correspondence from us.

IB	OB
Premium payments can be made either by Bank Standing Order, Cheque or Postal Order. Payments cannot be made by Direct Debit	Premium payments can be made either by an initial Lump Sum Payment or by Direct Debit or Bank Standing Order
Policy numbers begin with a number 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 or 10 and are 8 or 9 digits long. If the policy number is 9 digits long, it will begin with 0 or 1	Policy numbers begin with the numbers 02, 03, 04, 05, 07, 20, 21, 50, 60 or 80 and are always 8 digits long
